Why I Did This UX Audit

Because I couldn’t help myself! As a designer, I have a habit of spotting tiny quirks and thinking, "How could this be better?" Tata 1mg’s app is fantastic, but even the best experiences have room for improvement. So, I rolled up my sleeves, put on my UX detective hat, and dove in!

My dad once booked a blood test visit for my grandfather on Tata 1mg, and the process was so smooth that it saved him a lot of hassle – that's how I stumbled across 1mg through my dad

  1. Dynamic Elements on the Home Screen

The home screen contains dynamic banners and offers that move constantly, creating visual clutter. This can be overwhelming, particularly for elderly users.

  • Lack of clarity about the time or sequence of banner switches.

  • Overstimulation for first-time users.

  1. Cart Interaction Flow

Currently, users need to use a drop-down bottom sheet to add or remove items from the cart, which feels monotonous and adds friction to the user journey.

  • The process in unintuitive and requires extra effort

  • Replace the bottom sheet with a stepper feeder

  1. Doctor Consultation Flow

The first fold of the doctor consultation screen prioritizes carousels over privacy commitments, which are critical to user trust.

  • Low visibility of confidentiality & privacy commitments
