moving fast
i believe that moving fast should always be the default
there needs to be a bias for shipping & then iterating later
AI has removed most excuses for being slow
breadth > depth
cover as much as you can & learn as much as you can
i'm in my early twenties, i want to touch as many things as i can
i'm a polymath by nature, I'd rather regret trying too many things than too few
be honest
be it communicating with your peers, manager, stakeholders – never shy to speak the truth
make sure it lands in a soft way, i don't wanna sound like an entitled human
always stick to your morals & beliefs; your work should reflect these
i choose to be crisp & clear with whatever i feel
there is no ego in this game
we're all temporary; so let's make it safe for people to speak, disagree, and be themselves
managers & peers
i like to work with people who i can look upto & say i wanna learn this X quality from this person
be kind to everyone, you never no who might be going through something
i believe in the fact that fucking around & finding out is the only way to learn something; instead of mentoring/coaching
i never get attached to my work; emotionally detached to hear the criticism/truth – so be honest & make sense while u say it
what you say about others usually says more about you than them
communication
i don't enjoy unnecessary diplomacy, say what you mean
be respectful, but don't hide behind corporate language
most problems become easier once people start speaking plainly
everyone gets a seat at the table
everyone deserves a voice, so make a safe space for people to open up
if you're involved in the work, you should have a say in it
life outside work
the most interesting people i've worked with had a life outside work
movies, music, cycling, hobbies, strange obsessions, random adventures
they have more anecdotes & personalities you can talk about on lunch tables instead of the work talk
work is more fun when people bring their whole personalities into it
when work becomes someone's entire identity, things get unpleasant
thinking in systems
i ask a lot of questions, obnoxiously curious about everything
because I want to understand how things connect
thinking of the larger picture is what gives me clarity; before even starting out the work
